Hey there, masters of chaos!! Yes, I’m talking to you, the superhero moms juggling the world from the comfort of your living room, kitchen table, or, let’s be real, sometimes even the bathroom just to catch a break and send an email.
I remember the days when my office was wherever I could make space between legos and laundry piles. With four kids running around, I’ve lived through every stage – from newborn night feeds to teenage mood swings, all while trying to grow a business that didn’t just pay the bills but fulfilled me too. And guess what? I did it without hiring support, which I definitely don’t recommend, but the point is that it can be done no matter what your circumstances and budget.
So, how did I manage to not get swallowed up by the endless to-do lists and still find time to enjoy those precious, fleeting moments with my kids? It wasn’t always easy, and it sure wasn’t glamorous (despite what Instagram tries to sell us), but here are some tried-and-true strategies that kept me sane, productive, and, dare I say, thriving.

1. Embrace the Power of “Good Enough”
First off, give yourself a mountain of grace. Not everything has to be perfect. That dinner can be takeout, and the laundry can wait another day. What can’t wait is the time you’ll spend with your kids, moments for yourself, and growing your business. Prioritize what matters most each day, and let go of the guilt for not hitting that mythical standard of perfection.
2. Trust Your Gut – Your Inner Compass Knows the Way
Every mompreneur has that inner voice, that gut instinct that guides us. It might be telling you to pivot in your business or to take a much-needed break and play with your kids. Listen to it. More often than not, it’s steering you in the right direction, far better than any well-meaning advice could.
3. Consistency Over Perfection
Whether it’s posting on social media, engaging with your audience, or setting a bedtime routine for the kids, consistency is key. It’s not about grand gestures but the small, daily actions that build momentum in your business and create a stable environment at home. A consistent routine will also help you see where in your life and business you could use support and need more time for growth.
4. Everything Is a Season
Remember, this too shall pass. The sleepless nights, the teething, the client deadlines. Each phase is just a season, and there’s a new one waiting just around the corner. There will be seasons where you can fully dedicate yourself to being an epic boss bitch and other times you’ll be needed more as a momma, and that’s okay. Embrace the current one with all its mess and beauty, knowing it’s all part of your journey.
5. Be Protective About Your Energy
Our society loves a label of “busy-ness” and we are no longer here for that. Your energy is the most important asset you have and not just anyone should have access to that resource. Once you start understanding the parts of your business and people in your life that need that energy you can start saying “no” more easily. Remember no is a one word sentence. Once you start understanding where to put your energy you’ll achieve a more balanced life between work, family, and yourself.
Your Turn: Embrace the Chaos and Carve Your Path
You’re not alone on this crazy ride. I’ve been there, in the trenches, figuring it out one day at a time. And if I can do it, so can you. Let’s ditch the idea of doing it all and focus on what truly matters – our families, our passions, and yes, that occasional margarita on the beach (or in the backyard – we’re flexible!).
